Accessibility statement
Power Rate Check LLC wants people with disabilities to be able to compare electricity plans, review plan information, request help, and use our other services with substantially equivalent access.
Our Accessibility Goal
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a design and testing benchmark for PowerRateCheck.com. WCAG is a technical standard that helps make web content more usable for people with visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive, and other disabilities.
Accessibility is an ongoing process. Using WCAG as a benchmark is not a certification that every page or feature fully conforms, and automated testing cannot identify every accessibility issue.
Measures We Take
Our accessibility work includes efforts to:
- use headings, landmarks, labels, and other semantic structure that assistive technology can understand;
- provide text alternatives or accessible names for meaningful images, buttons, links, and controls;
- make core interactions available by keyboard without requiring a mouse or hover;
- maintain visible keyboard focus and a logical focus order;
- support browser zoom, text resizing, and reflow on narrow screens;
- use sufficient color contrast and avoid relying on color alone to convey important information;
- provide instructions and understandable error messages for forms;
- make expandable explanations usable by touch, keyboard, and assistive technology; and
- test important flows in current versions of major browsers and at common mobile, tablet, and desktop sizes.
We include automated accessibility checks in our development process and supplement them with manual review of important user flows. We also review accessibility when material features are added or changed.
Limitations and Third Party Content
Despite our efforts, some content or features may not yet work perfectly with every browser, device, or assistive technology. We have not completed an independent accessibility audit.
Electricity Facts Labels, provider documents, embedded services, and websites operated by REPs or other third parties may have accessibility limitations that we do not control. We will still try to help you obtain the information or complete the Power Rate Check portion of the process in another reasonable way.
Request Help or Report a Problem
If an accessibility issue prevents you from using the Service, contact us:
Please tell us the page or feature involved, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using if you are comfortable sharing it. You do not need to disclose the nature of a disability.
We aim to respond within 21 days. If we cannot fix an issue promptly, we will make reasonable efforts to provide the information or service through an accessible alternative without an additional charge.
