You should not need a spreadsheet to pick a power plan.
In much of Texas, you choose who sells you electricity. That choice is a good thing. We built Power Rate Check to make it an easy one.
Why we built this
Look up your ZIP and you may find hundreds of plans, each with its own rate, credits and fees. An advertised price often assumes a home that uses 1,000 kWh (the unit on your bill) a month. Your home probably uses more or less than that, so the ad's price may not be your price.
So people guess, or they give up and stay where they are. We think you deserve better than a guess.
What we do
We start with your home, not with an ad. You tell us how much electricity you use.
Then we add up what the plans for your ZIP would likely cost you over a full year. We lead with one clear answer. The math behind it is one tap away.

The right plan depends on how you use power. So that is where we start.
No one can buy a spot
No company can pay to move a plan up our list. Payment is not part of the ranking.
Plain words, always
Power plans are hard enough. If we cannot say it simply, we have not done our job.
What we cannot promise
We are a small, independent Texas company. We will not always be right.
Every number we show is an estimate. Your bill depends on the weather and on how you live.
The plan's own price sheet has the final word. It is called the Electricity Facts Label, or EFL. Please read it before you sign up.
If we get something wrong, tell us. What we can promise is to be straight with you.
Our hope is simple. One day, picking a power plan should feel as easy as flipping a switch. Until then, we will keep doing the math for you.
